Translated English Lyrics with Notes:

The evening star has fallen, fireflies are flying in the sky
Come my love, I am waiting next to the stream
The young are on the check, might we get caught we'll have to pay a swine*
Take care my love on the way, I a,m waiting near the stream

Having Mother Ganges** as witness, I will take you to my heart
We'll build our small hut on one of those black hills far away
We'll pass our lives in laughter and music, music and laughter
Come my love, I am waiting next to the stream

Tanyabi*** sings songs, in numerous styles she sings
Bamboo Hengorong#, numerous style you might see
I'll game on birds with my arrows
I'll search for fresh flowers to style your hair locks
We'll will live our lives in laughter and music, music and laughter
Come my love, I am waiting next to the stream

*In Chakma communities, if a couple is caught having an affair that's no yet approved by the community they have to pay fine with a pig or money or both and/or any form of punishment
** The Chakmas are huge fan of Ganges, Holy Mother Ganges whom they used to worship as a goddess of river (still in many rural parts of CHT they pay homage to Ganges), here he means he'd marry her
*** Tanyabi- an ill-fated lover girl who gave her life in the lake formed of her own teaqrs, after she parted from her lover in a tragic myth
# Hengorong- a kind of Chakma traditional musical instrument
